Earlier this year, The Gary Sinise Foundation uploaded a video honoring World War II veterans at Pearl Harbor.
The film was shot this past December, when actor Gary Sinise was in Honolulu to honor veterans and commemorate the 75th anniversary of the attack on Pearl Harbor. Sinise is the founder of the Gary Sinise Foundation, an organization that offers aid and support to soldiers and first responders.
Sinise entertained an audience of veterans and others with his band, the Lt. Dan Band, and served at Grand Marshal of the Pearl Harbor Memorial Parade. Sinise and American Airlines also flew 27 Pearl Harbor veterans from California to Hawaii.
“It’s so important to never forget this,” Sinise says in the video. “Our eyewitnesses are going to be gone in a short while. It’s going to be up to our park services, our memorials, our history books, our museums like the National World War II Museum, to carry on the messages and the lessons learned here.”
